If you are a tourist from another part of the world, be it East or West, you will find that this sublime part of rural England epitomises everything that you have ever heard about the English Countryside.

Alternatively, if you are from the United Kingdom, and new to these parts, you will undoubtedly find our market town, and this establishment in particular, most friendly. After all, we have been looking after visitors for 750 years!

A North Yorkshire Coaching Inn, but a Hotel, in essence, dating back 750 years - to the year 1258 - and steeped in history.

In a quiet corner of the Market Square in the attractive town of Boroughbridge, and only a very short distance to the A1 Motorway, but still far enough away to be thoroughly rural.

If your journey is from the South of England to, say, Scotland, or vice versa, the town of Boroughbridge is the ideal stopping place for an overnight stay, being roughly midway between the starting point and the destination. With delightful walks in every direction, including the banks of the very pretty River Ure, with its weir and host of wildlife.
